I took these pictures on 21 October 1999 on Connecticut Hill, near Ithaca, NY. The display lasted from about 1:30 to 4:00 am. At only 42.5°N latitude it is unusual to see the northern lights from the Ithaca area. We were lucky to catch this especially impressive display of the lights, in which we could clearly see structure and colors.
