Not a single curve for the next 90 miles, or 145.6 km as they call it in the modern age. Somewhere around here I got bored and, rather than take a nap, I decided to figure out how much traffic there was on the highway in the middle of the day. While driving west at the speed limit (which was surprisingly well obeyed), I kept track of all vehicles that went by heading east over a 100 km (62 mile) stretch. Assuming they were driving at the same speed, there were a total of 35 eastbound vehicles over 200 km of highway. 15 were campers, RVs, caravans, or other obvious holiday travelers; 11 were road trains (trucks pulling 2 full-length trailers or longer), or other large trucks, including 2 very wide vehicles which also had 1 helper car in front; 7 were normal cars or 4WDs, and 1 was a motorcycle.
