You can see exhaust coming from some of the trucks; it wasn't uncommon to see vehicles left running all day if they were parked where they couldn't have the engine heater plugged in. Starting your engine at -40 every day for months on end isn't the best thing for it (though idling for 6 hours straight might not be either).
