Testing out the sled. It's set up to measure how much radiation (sunlight and infrared light) is reaching the surface and how much is being reflected or emitted by the surface. By moving around and making the measurements at a lot of places on the ice we can see how different features on the ice cause different rates of melting, with the goal of getting the data needed to improve the modelling of the summertime sea-ice melt.
