The interior of al-Azraq. Rebuilt in 1237 to defend against Crusaders, the fort was used again by the Turks in the 16th century. It is most famous today for its use in the Arab revolt of 1918, which ousted the Ottoman Turks from the region. During that time, T. E. Lawrence ("of Arabia") lived here.
