Flowers outside of al-Azraq. Azraq means blue in Arabic, and this area was once a thriving wetland, but now it has been drained as Amman drew more and more water out of it. Now the town surrounding the castle is just a dusty stop for truckers crossing the desert from Baghdad and Saudi.
