After getting back across the tracks, we decided to try to find a way to walk to a large statue of a soldier that overlooks the city. As we walked by here, this man called out to us, and let us know that the path we were on didn't lead anywhere. He had worked on ships in Norway and Canada, so he spoke some English and asked us to come in for coffee. It was his dacha, or small summer house, and he showed us photos from his time travelling on ships. A friendly guy, he seemed pleased to get a chance to talk to some foreigners.
