The Fountain of Trajan was built in the first century AD and was 12 m (39 ft) tall. On the pedastal in the middle is the foot of what was a giant statue of the emperor by the same name. The foot is resting on a sphere, and an inscription says "I have conquered it all, and it's now under my foot."
