Distances (km) from the Nundroo Roadhouse. Penong (population 215, 79 km east of here) is the westernmost town along the highway in South Australia. Heading west from there it's 1128 km (700 miles) to the next town with more than 100 people (Norseman, Western Australia). Eucla, with a population of around 80, nearly half way in between, is the only other 'town' on the stretch. Otherwise there are roadhouses with travelers' services and lodging, but no real towns.
